Prince Wilhelm of Prussia: Wilhelm Friedrich Franz Joseph Christian Olaf was born on July 4th, 1906 near Potsdam, Germany and was second in line to the throne. Wilhelm was part of the Invasion of France and was wounded in combat, he died on May 26, 1940 at a field hospital in Nivelles. His funeral in Germany was attended by over 50,000 mourners
After the death of Prince Wilhelm, Hitler was bothered by the publicity his death was getting and feared it could pose problems for him in the long run. Shortly after Wilhelm's funeral, Hitler issues the Prinzenerlass which barred further nobility from joining the armed forces and relieved nobility already serving from duty.
