I was sent a link of some great World War 2 era images from the Eastern Front, the German perspective more specifically. They range from soldiers simply hanging out to some of the more grimmer realities of the war.
 
The link contains some nudity and possibly some disturbing content (the picture in question isn't very clear so it's hard to tell what's happening).

They seem to be compiled from various different cameras/units.
